“When I was a new Executive Director of a nonprofit in the Berkshires the Nonprofit Center provided me with many free resources and an hour of consulting so that I could get to know the landscape of nonprofit work in the Berkshires. The NPC of the Berkshires is a wonderful hub for all of us in the community!”  Michelle Lopez/Berkshire Immigrant Center

One free workshop of your choice:

Take advantage of this one right away by checking our EVENTS page. Coaching:

Technical assistance is offered by the hour or on a project basis. Having an experienced advisor with extensive nonprofit background, familiar with local funders, and adept at marketing, management & planning provides real value for the money. If we don’t have the expertise in house, we’ll connect you to the right consultant.  NPC members pay $50/hour for assistance.

Note: If your organization is struggling financially, please contact the NPC for pro bono consulting options.

“Thank you for helping with foundation board governance. Your knowledge and contacts are tremendous resources.”

HELP STARTING YOUR NONPROFIT:

Let us help you step-by-step from concept to completion of legal forms. The more you can do before a lawyer is necessary, the less expensive your start-up costs will be. The NPC discounted rate of $50/hour applies.

“The NPC has been very helpful to our fledgling organization. Liana’s knowledge of the local nonprofit landscape and willingness to share her expertise are the perfect complement to NPC’s list of valuable programs and services. In just a few short months, our membership has already paid for itself!” Eugenie Sills/Clinton Church Restoration

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP:

Using a fiscal sponsorship arrangement offers a way for a cause to attract donors even when it is not yet recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The NPC can serve as your administrative “home” collecting contributions and grants on your behalf for a 7% fee. As part of the agreement, the NPC also offers management coaching. Learn about fiscal sponsorship in this short video (NEO Law Group). Learn more about fiscal sponsorship from the National Council of Nonprofits.

Note: Fiscally sponsored projects must become NPC members.

“We recently received our 501(c)3 status, so now all direct YES donations are tax deductible! Special thanks to Liana, Elizabeth and the NPC Board of Directors for being our fiscal sponsor the previous year while we waited to receive our status!” Patrick Gordon/Youth, Education and Sports Initiative

“Liana and the NPC has been so helpful to our small nonprofit. Whenever I’m looking for a referral I can send a quick email and always receive helpful information. We’ve found someone to set up a new computer and reconfigure our internal office network. He’s now our go-to guy for anything tech related. I know I can always trust someone Liana recommends. It’s nice to know I can easily reach out and get the information. It definitely saves me time!” Emmalyn Gaertner, CDCSB
