Our Volunteer Fairs bring together 30 nonprofits and municipalities with hundreds of people looking to volunteer. Nonprofits receive educational materials on how best to attract, manage and engage volunteers, while attendees receive tip sheets on volunteer best practices, how to find your passion, and how to identify prospective organizations. All attendees receive a free copy of the Giving Back guide.
There is no county-wide volunteer organization in Berkshire County. Volunteers are an under-utilized resource we can tap into to strengthen our sector. Watch a clip from our November 2019 Fair at this link.
We look forward to welcoming members of the community to our next in-person Volunteer Fair on Friday, April 21st from Noon to 3pm at Crissey Farm on Route 7 in Great. Barrington. This event is free to attend, thanks to our sponsor, Berkshire Bank. It’s also National Volunteer Week – a great time to explore volunteer opportunities in our community!
Our partner in this event is Berkshire United Way. If you haven’t checked out their online volunteer center, click here to get involved and make a difference.
The Nonprofit Center also has a volunteer site at GiveBackBerkshires.org which features nonprofit profiles that include ways to help, things to donate, and stories of the impact of COVID-19. It is free for all nonprofits and community members are encouraged to use the site and its comprehensive search functions to find the perfect volunteer opportunity.
We are committed to helping nonprofits connect, learn and grow. We connect nonprofits to volunteers in a number of ways: via the Giving Back guide (a directory of 1,000+ Berkshire nonprofits), through volunteer fairs, board trainings, referrals, and more.
