Berkshire Funding Landscape

November 9 (6:00-7:30pm), via Zoom

This workshop is designed to give nonprofits an understanding of all the different funding options in Berkshire County – from foundations, to corporate sponsorships, individual donors, grants, civic societies and more.

  • Participants in this class are encouraged to attend “Meet the Donors” on November 10 to round out their knowledge of the local funding landscape.
  • Participants will receive a list of Berkshire Funders with contact information.

Note: Free one-on-one coaching is available by the hour on a first come, first-served basis. Please email Liana@npcberkshires.org to reserve your session(s).

Liana Toscanini founded the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires (NPC) in 2016 after 20 years of volunteering in the Berkshires. She learned the art of fundraising and grant writing on the job, helping to restore the historic Sandisfield Arts Center building. Her corporate marketing background proved useful in her various board roles, assisting nonprofits with PR, marketing and fundraising, and in her job as Development & Marketing Director for Community Access to the Arts (CATA) where she worked for nine years.

For the past three years, NPC has focused on volunteerism including board training. Liana developed a board training curriculum for OLLI in 2019 and has since shared variations of this training with nonprofit boards, leadership groups, and more recently, in a video series “Intro to Board Service,” designed to encourage people to say “Yes” to joining a board.

She is the recipient of Berkshire Magazine’s “Berkshire 25” Award (2018), a 1Berkshire Trendsetter Award (2018) and an Unsung Heroine Award (2006) from the MA Commission on the Status of Women.
