Using FREE Resources to Create a Customized List of Likely Funders for Your Nonprofit
Tuesday, September 17th
10am – 11:30am via Zoom
Finding and evaluating relevant foundation funder possibilities that lead to successful grant applications is a process – part science and part art. The good news is that even if your nonprofit doesn’t have a large resources budget to do this research and evaluation it can still be done efficiently and effectively thanks to some amazing free search websites and databases such as impala, ProPublica’s Nonprofit Explorer, and even the IRS site. Explore how to maximize the value of these resources collectively and search each optimally.
In addition, you will learn about important factors to consider before starting your search, how to read a 990PF form and its most relevant sections, and some key variables and metrics to look for before making a decision to apply or not, including ideas on how to strategize and overcome the discouraging caveat “Not accepting new applications.” This 90-minute session will be interactive, so please feel free to come with search examples that we can try together. *Please note that this course does not cover government grants.
