Fundraising Communication Essentials Part 1

Description of Workshop:

In this interactive, 3-part workshop series, participants will develop clear, concise, and compelling fundraising communications that they can put to immediate use. With an emphasis on real-world practicality and application, we will explore communications best practices and fundamentals while providing hands-on opportunities to put learning into practice – and into action!

The workshop will begin with an in-person session, followed by two subsequent Zoom sessions. Each session is two hours and will be interactive with opportunities for both individual and group work so that participants may benefit from peer insights and collaboration.

Participants will learn fundraising communication fundamentals and basic best practices; understand their audience and how to leverage their network; and develop clear, concise, and compelling messaging they can put to immediate use. At the conclusion of the series, they will come away with a tangible toolkit including:

  • mission, vision, values, and purpose statementsNicole Antil photo
  • a well-articulated elevator pitch
  • an annual appeal letter template
  • a basic narrative for a case for support using the ‘CASE IN5’ framework
  • an actionable communications plan
