The series closes outside, building a real fire together as an embodied, closing ritual — practicing the same Tend steps just used for community organizing: gathering materials, sparking the flame, tending it as it grows, and keeping it sustained.
- Gather and Arrange materials — tinder, kindling, and fuel wood, structured with intention. • Ignite & Tend — light and nurture the fire as a group, mirroring the Part 2 framework.
- Expand and Extinguish — closing circle connecting the physical fire to each participant’s advocacy fire going forward.
Important announcement!
Pay equity is a serious issue for nonprofits, and at NPC, we want to respect the diversity of our community. In honor of that diversity, NPC is now using a new pricing structure for all its workshop programming, based on the The Sliding Scale: A Tool of Economic Justice (aka The Green Bottle Method), developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk.
This is a simple way to let you choose the price that honestly matches your personal and/or your organization’s financial reality. All tiers get the same offering, and every payment is valued equally. Please reach out if you have any questions or thoughts about this pricing model.

GREEN BOTTLE FULL — For those with steady income who aren’t worried about basics, but are working through debt, building savings, or moving beyond paycheck to paycheck. If family, a partner, or friends could help cover the cost, please consider that first so the scale stays available to others.
GREEN BOTTLE TIPPED — For those who struggle to consistently access health care, housing, food, or child care and are living paycheck to paycheck.
GREEN BOTTLE LOW — For those facing the greatest financial hardship, where cost would otherwise be a barrier to participating at all.
We trust you to choose your own tier. No documentation, no explanation needed — just make your selection at checkout.
